Otieno Opondo was born in Lamu, Kenya. A holder of an MSc in Communication Studies, Otieno is a media scholar, journalist, and humorist.

He is the author of "Beer Pressure", a hilarious novel that captures, in engrossing narrative prose, the plight of the youth as they tackle issues like alcoholism and peer pressure.

Otieno is a huge fan of fiction, which he says helps us become more empathetic and compassionate people. He is also a successful pilautician with countless empty plates of pilau to his name.
