Dear Narok County, you’ve finally been found!

Are you a talented youth who has been working hard to keep improving your talent, with a dream that someday you’ll see your name in lights and your gift will change the world?

Your gift was meant for the world. And while you have diligently put in the work to grow your talent, what you now need is a context; a platform to showcase what you have, and be discovered.

The Focused Youth Movement (FYM) in partnership with Narok County Government and an array of other partners has organized a Talent Search that will happen at The Narok Stadium on 19th March 2022. Entry is free for the general public and participants.

To register as a participant, contact 0723 690534 with your details and talent you’d like to showcase. All talents are welcome, and winners in each category will receive mentorship and opportunities to tend to and trade in their talents on a bigger scale, nationwide.

But first, a little back story to understand why The Focused Youth Movement decided to host a talent search, and who is behind the organization.

Earlier this year, we had a chat with a talented and inspirational young man from Narok, Peter Sharvin. His story touched us, and because we have vowed to leave no stone unturned when it comes to driving systemic change in society through storytelling, we told Sharvin’s story.

We narrated how he dropped out of school after family feuds and became a street kid in Nairobi, rifling through garbage cans for food. We also told the story of how Sharvin sold hard drugs in Nairobi, was arrested and locked up at remand prison, later released, and rose to be a gospel artiste inspiring and touching lives within and beyond the borders of Kenya.

Peter Sharvin later founded The Focused Youth Movement, an organization he uses to help youths extricate themselves from the stranglehold of drugs while inspiring them to be the leaders of today. The heart of FYM beats for youths who will rise up and become leading mavericks and heavyweights in various industries, locally and internationally. One of FYM’s driving vehicles towards this goal is running talent searches in collaboration with county governments, starting with Sharvin’s home county, Narok, this month.
