I was reading the story of Rowan Atkinson, popularly known as Mr Bean and it made me get into deep reflection. That Mr Bean was born in a middle-class family father was a farmer. Because he was smart and a hard worker, he got admitted to Oxford University. While in college he started taking interest in acting and got enrolled in a comedy group. He however couldn’t perform well due to his speaking disorder. He was bullied in school due to his stuttering.
Atkinson tried his luck with acting but because of his stammering, a lot of TV shows rejected him. Despite all the hardships, he still believed in himself. Soon, he realized that he could speak fluently whenever he played a character. However, he still kept on getting rejected, because he didn’t have a beautiful face & a heroic body.
But then, he proved everyone wrong! After a lot of rejection, Rowan Atkinson started his own show, the famous, Mr Bean, which became a global SUCCESS. Today, Rowan Atkinson is one of the most famous celebrities of all time and currently has an estimated net worth of 150 million dollars.
And this was the heart of my reflection! Rowan Atkinson knew, deep in his heart, that he had a talent that was awaiting exploration. He was passionate about acting even though he stammered. He worked hard all through and NEVER gave up!
What are you passionate about? What are your interests? What is this thing deep in your heart that makes you push yourself every day? Mr Bean was not too concerned about looking bad or failing. He stammered all through to success.
He believed in his interest and passion and this drove him to find a solution to his life: innovation.
Mr Bean thought out of the box. He went at his own pace and didn’t apologize for what he could not change. He did not make excuses for his stuttering but went for what he believed in!
He was HIMSELF! He found a way to go for what he believed in with determination and single-mindedness.
He believed that happiness is a choice. He had the courage to find out what would make him happy and created his own business success!

- We must begin the journey by having the knowledge of our interest, talents, passions, abilities, strengths, weaknesses and take stock.
- We must believe in ourself. We are the writers, directors, producers, and STARS of our own life. If we don’t like the script, then we must CHANGE IT!
- We have 100% success potential with the challenges we face daily. Giving up should never be an option.
- We have an army of supporters and cheerleaders in our family and friends who are rooting for our success. We are not alone! Even one cheerleader is enough to drive us forward!
- You are one out of the 7,500,000,000 human beings on earth. We are not an accident!
- We are born game-changers if we believe in ourselves, work hard, overcome challenges, and never lose sight of the end goal, we can make it.
Just like Rowan Atkinson, let us all embrace our strengths and limitations and make the best out of each opportunity and let the world align with our interests.
